HISTORIC DISTRICT

(See also Architectural Review Committee and Commercial District Zoning Overlay pages.

The Cleveland Park Historic District is listed in both the National Register of Historic Places and the District of Columbia Inventory of Historic Sites. You can download the National Register nomination form here (text) and here (pictures). This map shows the boundaries of the historic district: roughly from Rodman and Tilden Streets south to Woodley Road, and from Wisconsin Avenue to Connecticut Avenue, with a dip east of Connecticut to encompass the Connecticut Avenue commercial strip and houses on Macomb Street. The National Register nomination form has a detailed enumeration of the boundaries and contributing structures.

Changes to properties in the historic district are subject to special review by the city’s Historic Preservation Office, the Advisory Neighborhood Commission, and CPHS’s Architectural Review Committee (ARC).
